2018 Saw the very first Gold Coast ‘Empty Bowls’ take place. This world wide initiative was now going to be curated for the Gold Coast by Norton & Norton Studio, Soda Pop Agency and Small Stall. At it heart and soul it is a grassroots effort to raise both money and awareness in the fight to end hunger. The mission is to create positive and lasting change through the arts, education and projects that build community, one bowl at a time.

Our guests purchased tickets ‘Bowls’ created by local and international potters and some painted by local and international artists. Tickets sold out weeks before the event! We where so overwhelmed by the local support.

The guests where then be served a simple but delicious meal donated by a local restaurant. And when we say delicious we really mean it, they’ve got a whole host of awesome eateries on board, including Tucker from The Commons in Casuarina, Stable Coffee Kitchen from the Cornerstone Stores in Currumbin, Elephant Rock Cafe, Parlour Coffee and Halcyon House’s award-winning restaurant Paper Daisy. Happy and full bellies are guaranteed.

In exchange for the meal and bowl, the money from your ticket went to Agape Outreach, a local charity serving the homeless and hungry in our community.

We raised a whopping $11,500 we is equivalent to 6194 three course meals for homeless people here on the Gold Coast!
